The Center for Transportation Studies (CTS), in partnership with the Virginia Transportation Research Council (VTRC) and the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT), recently established a Safety Circuit Rider (SCR) program to provide  safety-focused transportation training and technical assistance for local agencies across Virginia. The program is seeking an experienced transportation engineer to fulfill the Safety Circuit Rider role on a full-time basis.

The Safety Circuit Rider will provide valuable community outreach, working with local agencies to identify high crash areas and conduct road safety assessments. This key member of the SCR team will provide engineering technical and on-site assistance. Additional agency support will include in-classroom training, assistance with state and federal aid opportunities, database development and maintenance, and management of a low-cost safety improvement initiative.
