Applicants for the graduate program must
have a baccalaureate degree in engineering or a closely related field from a college
or university of recognized rank.
The applicant is required to take the Graduate
Record Examination (GRE) Aptitude Tests and
to submit results before the application
will be
approved. International applicants whose
native language is not English must also submit
completed
TOEFL scores. Additional requirements are
described in the GRADUATE RECORD. Application

When completing your application, please be sure to clearly
state the program within CTS for which you are applying.
You may do so by stating either "Transporation Systems
Engineering and Management" or "Transportation Pavements"
in the Research Interests section, and by clearly stating
your interest in your personal statement.
Financial Aid The strong, well-funded research program of CTS allows the Center to offer research assistantships to well-qualified applicants. The assistantships include a full tuition remission along with a competitive stipend. In addition, the Virginia Center for Transportation Innovation and Research, located on the grounds of the University, supports students through a Graduate Assistantship Program, which provides the opportunity to work on transportation problems currently facing the State of Virginia. Eligible students are also encouraged to apply for fellowships awarded by the Federal Highway Administration and other appropriate sources. Links to financial aide resources are provided below:
