Director Nicholas J. Garber |
I am sure that returning visitors to this web site will observe that the photograph of the Director is no longer that of Professor Lester Hoel, but that of Nick Garber. Les, as he is lovingly called by all, retired from the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering in June after serving the Department for 35 years, including 15 years as Chairman and 7 years as Director of the Center for Transportation Studies. His untiring effort during his tenure in the Department is a major contribution to the current strength of the Department and particularly the Transportation program. We wish Les a happy well-deserved retirement.
I have replaced Les as the new Director of the Center for Transportation Studies and foresee the continuing growth of the Transportation program during the coming years. This includes the establishment of a one-year Professional ME degree program and short courses to serve continuing education requirements for professionals. A description of the current programs is given below. I encourage all to contact me or any faculty or administrator associated with the program for any additional information that may be required.
