CTS Student Wins 2007 Dwight David Eisenhower Graduate Transportation Fellowship

Mr. Hyungjun Park was selected as a recipient of a 2007 Dwight David Eisenhower Graduate Transportation Fellowship from the National Highway Institute within the Federal Highway Administration.

The objective of this program is to attract qualified
students to the fields of transportation education and
research, and advance transportation workforce development.
The program is intended to help upgrade the scope of
knowledge of the entire transportation community in the
United States and encompasses all modes of transportation.

Mr. Park received his bachelor's degree in Urban Planning
from the Hanyang University, Seoul, South Korea in 1996 and
his master's degree in Civil Engineering from University of
Virginia in 2005. He is currently pursuing a PhD degree
at the University of Virginia. The focus of his
doctoral research is to investigate potential benefits of
Vehicle Infrastructure Integration (VII) in traffic
operations, especially focusing on ramp metering systems.
