The projects listed represent
the current and recent areas of research. The
majority of these projects have resulted in published
theses or dissertations, research reports and
papers prepared for professional meeting presentations
and journal articles.
The transportation research
program has benefited in recent years through
sustained funding of approximately $2.5 million
per year through various sponsors, including
the Virginia Transportation Research Council
(VTRC) and the U.S. DOT Universities Transportation
Centers program. The research program is noted
for being responsive to the emerging challenges
from the transportation sector which continually
requires probing into new areas such as intelligent
transportation systems and intermodal transportation. |
